What Makes Skateboard So Attractive

This is the final post! So the content of this writings is a little different. It’s going to be totally based on my feeling of skateboard!

The reason I try skateboard on my own initiative is that I want to experience something completely fresh to me since I was totally upset and got fed up with the immutable and frozen life then.

After I joind the club and get more information about skateboard on the internet, I deeply felt that real skateboarders are creative, life-adoring, and always searching for funs in their daily life. Their hearts are absolutely free; they are honest to the feelings of themselves; they live casually but earnestly at the same time; they live colorful lives.

In the two videos you can see the creativity and all the things I have mentioned above.

This is my feeling of skateboarder, then what about skateboard? I think skateboard brings a kind of pure happiness to people when grasping a new skill through your body. When they grow intimate with the board, they grow intimate with this world, either.

Thanks for viewing my blog all these days!

History of Skateboard

I’m going to say something about the origin and adaptation about skateboard. Even though it’s about the history, it’s not that old!

Back when 1950s in California, some surfers extended surfing to the ground so as to enjoy the affluent feeling all the time. No one knows who created the first skateboard on the world because so many people acclaimed themselves made it at that time. The first batch of skateboards (made by surfers themselves) were just some boxes or boards fixed with wheels torn from roller skates, so it often caused injuries.

Skateboarding reached a peak at 1963, Torger Johnson, Woody Woodward and Danny Berer were celebrities at that time. But their playing style were really different from the skateboarding we see today. It’s more like dancing ballet or ice skating. I just can’t imagine that, it’s absolutely weird, isn’t it?

Just like a fad, skateboard has straits. Around 1965, public didn’t ride it anymore, causing the factories and companies to bankrupt. But after this crisis, a revolutionary breakthrough on the material of the wheel bring people back, making another peak of its popularity.

Nowadays, skateboard is not something just for fun, it’s an artistry and can be very   professional. Even though I won’t be an ace of it, I still enjoy it from heart.

Animals on Skateboard

Hello, everybody! This week is still a week of mid-term exam to some people, so let’s take a look at some cool and interesting performing from cute animals!

Look at this chimp! He(or she) is a real street skateboarder, isn’t he? After watching this, I just want to go to bed hoping to dream a dream in which I can play as fantastic as him.

This is a video containing every kind of skateboarding animal on the internet. There’s not only dogs and cats, but also animals like goats and guinea pigs inside! And I must say most of them are really skateboarding! They accelerate by drawing their feet, just like humans, and they really enjoy the feeling of sliding. There’s only a little part of these animals that just be put on a moving board and be recorded.

There’s a famous dog in America, called Tillman, setting a Guinness World Record for being the fastest dog on skateboard! Tillman’s keeper said that he didn’t train the bulldog for anything about skateboard. Tillman himself loved skateboarding and sophisticated it alone. How amazing!

Ray Barbee- Man who Create Classics

Hello! The last post has received lots of attention (compared with the other posts of mine). I think that’s because the stair-rover’s just too fascinating, ha! But actually, I’m a little afraid that I have nothing interesting to write this week. I decide to present a celebrity in the world of skateboard at last. I hope it won’t be too boring!

Ray Barbee is an American skateboarder. He has invented many awesome tricks and it was he who made freestyle tricks on street norm. He has many videos showing brand-new tricks and his admirable skills, which have become classics in the domain of skateboard.

Here is one of those classics: Public Domain. When this video was shot, Ray was just a kid and had already possessed astonishing skills.

In the second video,   Ban This, Ray had grown as a teenager, showing more tricks that afterward became some common skills all the players around the world try to be skilled at.

A Miracle in the World of Skateboard:Stair-Rover

Hello everybody! Last week I announced that I would introduce a kind of skateboard which was super cool! The most eye-catching part of it is that it has eight wheels. It has been reported by Discovery and The Berrics , the biggest media of skateboard in the world, specifically and was given high appraisals. The most important thing is that it’s a “proud of Taiwan"!

"Stair-Rover" is designed by a Taiwanese skatrboarder,賴柏志,and it’s his graduation work in a design school in London. Like it’s name,Stair-Rover,suggests,it permits you to wander at all kinds of awful road surfaces like gravel road, drain covers, guide bricks, lawn, and, most amazingly, stairs. Imaging that you roll over the stairs fluently even elegantly! No wonder the experience of playing Stair-Rover is generally called “city surfing”. And I have to explain more that a normal skateboard tends to trip over even if there’s just a little pebble on the road, so Stair-Rover is just like a gift from god, a MIRACLE!

Stair-Rover hasn’t been launched, precisely speaking. People around the world can pre-order it now, but they have to wait until 2015 to get it. It costs about NT$7500.It may sounds expensive, but actually, it’s not much more expensive than a long board, and I think that’s totally worthy!

This is not a video from youtube,To watch clearer video, click the link below!

A Tipical Trick in the World of Skateboard- Tic Tak

Hey guys! The week before last week,I finally started to practice something more than just sliding around. It’s called “Tic Tak”.When standing on a board, you tilt one side of it,having it hang in the air, and you make the board turn towards left or right. What I,ve described is so-called Tic Tak.
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_YOBQKTgDlZkEkgOJKyK5DhFfc-Sn3NKOpvDOmF0gbfwaGHSba2mN1oDNjKyIbVfmutziGUsNImXgvxaJFstBagvxt91sgRV-gJRWsAhnUqB3ICF6HfzIaOfx98X20liHNfAozpnNTRk/s1600/IMG_3568.jpg

The must-remembered thing is to keep your center of gravity in the middle of the board,or else you might fall backward, which is probably be fatal if your hindbrain get awfully damaged.Actually,on the day I first stepped on a skateboard,I also tried my hand at Tic Tak,and I tumbled, lying flat on the ground.Luckily I was intact that time.

I already can do Tic Tac now but not when sliding.Maybe the next few weeks I’ll keep practicing that so that I have nothing to write in my blog, haha! But I’m not that worried because I’ve decided to introduce a very special (and mysterious?) skateboard next week!

Safety Ride on Skateboard

Well,as I haven’t learned any awesome tricks to show you,I decide to talk about some way to make sure of your safety when skateboarding.

It will get more and more dangerous when the trick you do gets crasier, haha! Some tricks include jumping off from high place or rolling in high speed may make you hurt really, really much! It’s easily to break your bones.
Though cool, skateboarding on railings is really dangerous.

The most important thing is to protect your head,it’s a commen rule in every kind of sport, and skateboard is included, assuredly.Put your arms around your head and curl your body into a ball.Acutually,it’s really hard to do the right action though it seems easy because most people are prone to reach out their arms to support themselves, which is really awful because your whole weight is endured by your two hands,so they might receive huge pressure.

The second tip is to kick your board away from you when feeling you’re likely to fall,or you might trip on the board and thus make the problem more complicated.

Third, keep your pocket empty in case that something like key might hurt you after falling.

Wish myself can be totally unhurted in the end.
