History of Skateboard

I’m going to say something about the origin and adaptation about skateboard. Even though it’s about the history, it’s not that old!

Back when 1950s in California, some surfers extended surfing to the ground so as to enjoy the affluent feeling all the time. No one knows who created the first skateboard on the world because so many people acclaimed themselves made it at that time. The first batch of skateboards (made by surfers themselves) were just some boxes or boards fixed with wheels torn from roller skates, so it often caused injuries.

Skateboarding reached a peak at 1963, Torger Johnson, Woody Woodward and Danny Berer were celebrities at that time. But their playing style were really different from the skateboarding we see today. It’s more like dancing ballet or ice skating. I just can’t imagine that, it’s absolutely weird, isn’t it?

Just like a fad, skateboard has straits. Around 1965, public didn’t ride it anymore, causing the factories and companies to bankrupt. But after this crisis, a revolutionary breakthrough on the material of the wheel bring people back, making another peak of its popularity.

Nowadays, skateboard is not something just for fun, it’s an artistry and can be very   professional. Even though I won’t be an ace of it, I still enjoy it from heart.
