How to Stand on a Skateboard

I had my first skateboard lesson last Friday! The coach of our club teached us skateboarding from scratch.I’ll try describing these movements in words, but in case that you still can’t understand,I put a video from youtube which has a skater boy inside to show you how to skateboard as a beginner.

First, you have to find out which leg is your habitual leg.Put a leg on the board while the other step on the ground, and roll back and forth, feeling which side is more comfortable to you when rolling.

Once you find your habitual leg,you can try standing on skateboard.Put your habitual leg in the front and keep your center of gravity on this leg, then put the other in the back and vertical to the board.Try to adjust the front leg vertical to the board, either, for our body facing left or right while sliding.

If you can stand steady, there’s absolutly no problem moving!Congratulation!
